Invitation Letter

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

we hope that you are all well. Due to the current situation (COVID-19 pandemic) the Scientific Programme Committee of COCCYX 2020 has decided to reschedule our international symposium until next year.

"COCCYX 2020 — The tailbone and it's neighbourhood" will take place next summer from 24 to 25 June 2021 here in Munich.

We were once again able to secure our beautiful congress venue in the English Garden in Munich as well as affordable accommodations.

We are looking forward to meeting you all next summer! Until then, stay healthy!

Best wishes,

Dr. Reinhard Thoma

Prof. Dr. Christine Schiessl

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

it is with great pleasure that we announce the 3rd international symposium on coccyx disorders on 2021, June 24th and 25th in Munich.

After the successful start in 2016 in Paris, initiated and organized by Jean-Yves Maigne and Levon Doursounian and the second three day event in Dordrecht, organized by Marijke Slieker-ten Hove two years ago, Algesiologikum — Centers for Pain Medicine, Munich has the honor to host the 3rd symposium on coccyx disorders — COCCYX 2020.

We made much progress in understanding and treating painful coccyx conditions, but still, many things remained unclear and still too many patients are suffering from this special pain syndrome. Too many patients aren’t diagnosed and treated appropriately and are passed on from one physician / therapist to the next. "If tailbone pain was a nail, who has the right hammer?".

COCCYX 2020 wants to widen the focus and take a broader view on tailbone pain. Thus we've entitled this symposium "The tailbone and it's neighbourhood" in the intention to get a 360° perspective of the problem, and arrive at new solutions.

Over two days, many experts from very different fields will present their work and share their expertise. Highlight of the program is a panel discussion. Based on a case report, four experts will discuss their various approaches in diagnosis and therapy, thus trying to draw the most comprehensive picture of this special pain syndrome.

The congress venue is in the most beautiful center in Munich, right next to the famous "Englischer Garten". We have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful place at midsummer.

we're looking forward to welcome you in Munich.

Best wishes,

Dr. Reinhard Thoma

Kardinal Wendel Haus

Munich, Germany

The Kardinal Wendel Haus in Munich, Germany built towards the end of the 13th century is the oldest farmhouse in Munich-Schwabing.

It was converted into a conference centre in the 1980s and was extensively refurbished in 2007 to provide a perfect conference venue in the heart of Bavaria’s capital city for Bishops of the Catholic Academy in Bavaria which was founded in 1957 as an Ecclesiastical Foundation under Public Law.

The Academy’s conference buildings are the Kardinal Wendel Haus, the "Viereckhof" and Castle Suresnes.

The conference centre is situated in the north-east of Munich and adjoins the "Englischer Garten" (German: English Garden), one of the largest parks in the world, with a view of the river Isar.

Everything is within easy reach to the city thanks to the excellent transport network to hotels and popular tourist spots.

Further information about the venue including contact, accommodation and directions are provided on the official website.
